Eusebio Carlomagno's late challenge caught a Club Empalme Graneros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diego Txilar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Pan y Vino FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Empalme Graneros the free kick. In the 91st minute, Tadeo Cordarryl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Empalme Graneros's Arturo Bitxintxo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Diego Txilar. That made the score 0-7 after 94 minutes of play. Gaudencio Urbasa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Diego Txilar came out and tried to block the shot, but Gaudencio Urbasa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 98th minute.
