With a little luck, Newell´s's Jesus Gitano got control of the ball when Eevald Agar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jesus Gitano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eevald Agar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaspar Pelayo in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Endre Lencse saved Burgues Theatre from getting behind. Eevald Agar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Gaspar Pelayo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Endre Lencse was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Florencio Ponc was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 15th minute. Burgues Theatre's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gervasio Remir kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Newell´s's Sidónio Candeias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Endre Lencse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 27th minute of the match Burgues Theatre got a corner. Newell´s's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florencio Ponc ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gervasio Remir scored 1-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jesus Gitano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Candido Goizeder's late challenge caught a Newell´s's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Candido Goizeder helped the player get up and apologised. Candido Goizeder kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eevald Agar to make the kick off. Newell´s's Jesus Gitano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervasio Remir in the 51st minute of play. 52 minutes into the match, Gervasio Remir notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Newell´s's Jesus Gitano. Jesus Gitano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Endre Lencse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Pelayo in the 56th minute of the match. Newell´s were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Burgues Theatre's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Federico Peio took the corner. Newell´s's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Federico Peio in the 60th minute. Newell´s's Federico Peio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Endre Lencse in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Atilano Lluciano hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. The supporters of Burgues Theatre booed when Newell´s was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atilano Lluciano didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eevald Agar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaspar Pelayo got in the 68th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Endre Lencse handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Gaspar Pelayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Endre Lencse having to interfere. Newell´s's Gaspar Pelayo got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute Florencio Ponc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Gitano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Federico Peio hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Jesus Gitano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eevald Agar in the 78th minute of play. Endre Lencse made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidónio Candeias in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eevald Agar in the 83rd minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Jesus Gitano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jesus Gitano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eevald Agar went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 89th match minute, Newell´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Barba to maneuver through the defense. After 90 played minutes, Burgues Theatre's Florencio Ponc shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jesus Gitano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Burgues Theatre reached it. Burgues Theatre's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
