The audience was convinced that Bernard Edwards's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bartolo Idacio was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Slavi Moraliyski charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Slavi Moraliyski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th minute, Slavi Moraliyski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Eriberto Truylos made a precise shot to the right of Dariusz Praski. Dariusz Praski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciriaco Maule, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the game, Lisandro Lobo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Dariusz Praski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dariusz Praski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentino Gomesano in the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, Martin Suy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bosteritos FC the free kick. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Martin Suy hit a great ball. Bosteritos FC's Dariusz Praski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Truylos in the 43rd minute of play. If Zeledon Arias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernard Edwards fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartolo Idacio having to interfere. After the first half Independiente were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Victorio Primo made a kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Bartolo Idacio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bartolo Idacio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victorio Primo went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. In the 57th minute, Martin Suy made a precise shot to the right of Dariusz Praski. Bosteritos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7. Bosteritos FC's Dariusz Praski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Bosteritos FC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eriberto Truylos in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dariusz Praski saved Bosteritos FC from getting behind. Dariusz Praski came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Lisandro Lobo. But to his dismay, Lisandro Lobo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-9. Dariusz Praski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lisandro Lobo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Faruk Sebuktekin kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Florentino Gomesano struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Dariusz Praski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. Nemesio Carlomagno kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Bosteritos FC's Israel Lavalle couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 87th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Independiente. In the 91st match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Xacintu to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Tab to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 98 minutes, Eriberto Truylos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Truylos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
