Jakov Đorović blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stevan Anđić having to make a save. The supporters of Varvarin OFK booed when Male Pijace FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Marilović didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ljuba Gošić hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Ljuban Vukojičić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stevan Anđić was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ljuban Vukojičić got free with Stevan Anđić in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ljubinko Krčedinac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Milan Jakovljević hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Jakov Bošković hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Isidor Tripković's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jugoslav Jeremić was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. If Ljuban Vukojičić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ljubomir Đoševski made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Varvarin OFK's zone, Isidor Tripković stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jugoslav Jeremić came out of the goal and Isidor Tripković tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ljuban Vukojičić in the 60th minute of play forced Male Pijace FK's goalkeeper Stevan Anđić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jovica Nosović might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jugoslav Jeremić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jovica Nosović ran back to his position shaking his head. Stevan Anđić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ljuban Vukojičić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Milorad Martać hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Male Pijace FK's zone, Ljuban Vukojičić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stevan Anđić came out of the goal and Ljuban Vukojičić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Varvarin OFK's Ljubinko Krčedinac got a free kick in the 77th minute. Male Pijace FK were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Varvarin OFK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Milorad Martać took the corner. After taking down the ball on Male Pijace FK's corner Kornelije Gvozdenović fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jugoslav Jeremić quite easily take care of the ball. If Ljubomir Đoševski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Male Pijace FK's Vlada Stoilović got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Male Pijace FK's Jugoslav Jeremić threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jovica Nosović, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Varvarin OFK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
