When Đorđe Meković fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sombor's protests and gave Đorđe Meković a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Sombor got a freekick which was hit by Đorđe Meković. With a little luck, Sombor's Dejan Maričić got control of the ball when Stevan Gurić tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stevan Gurić took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dejan Maričić. The Padej fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergej Šaranović should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stojan Višelavski in the 34th minute of play forced Padej's goalkeeper Sergej Šaranović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Rajko Đinđić made a precise shot to the right of Sergej Šaranović. Padej's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Uglješa Bekan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Sergej Šaranović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Uglješa Bekan made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, one of Padej:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 62nd match minute, Sombor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saša Jakšić to maneuver through the defense. When Stevan Gurić came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Padej fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stevan Gurić couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the game, Padej's Milija Kunovac nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dejan Maričić made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4.
