In the 13th minute of the match, Sel Faherty got a very nice opportunity to score, but Guinglain Herrington was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Penarth's zone, Rhun Cleary stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brad Gately came out of the goal and Rhun Cleary tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute, Kynan Bergin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, UWA Penarth's Nissyen Faircloth got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 42nd minute, UWA Penarth's Rhett Gee ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Guinglain Herrington. Guinglain Herrington yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rhett Gee to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Rhett Gee notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of UWA Newtown's Guinglain Herrington. Guinglain Herrington was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kynwal Durling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute.
