But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Syvwlch Fane couldn't finish the play. Govannon Bellew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arawn Brandon came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by UWA Ely's Ieuan Eccleston. But to his dismay, Ieuan Eccleston quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Arawn Brandon made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Ieuan Eccleston sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute, Morthwyl Alden fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Arawn Brandon, passed just outside the right post. Morthwyl Alden struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Arawn Brandon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UWA Ely. When Inek Kemble came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Aberystwyth Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inek Kemble couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Govannon Bellew made a kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Aberystwyth Utd got a corner. UWA Ely's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Syvwlch Fane ran over to the corner to take the kick. Syvwlch Fane made a great header on Aberystwyth Utd's corner, it was just that UWA Ely's Eryi Browne managed to reach the ball for a save. Arawn Brandon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Morthwyl Alden in the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of UWA Ely booed when Aberystwyth Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caddoc Hillier didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maelwys Brewster got free with Eryi Browne in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eryi Browne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Govannon Bellew in the 75th minute of the match. Maelwys Brewster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eryi Browne having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Govannon Bellew got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. UWA Ely's Eryi Browne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save UWA Ely from getting a goal against them. Dillan Button took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arawn Brandon. Aberystwyth Utd's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Aberystwyth Utd booed when UWA Ely was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gwalchmei Betts didn't get a good kick on the ball. UWA Ely's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
