When Peissawg Brent fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UWA Presteigne's protests and gave Peissawg Brent a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd minute, one of UWA Presteigne:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for UWA Presteigne. The goalkeeper, Gwres Charlton, was totally fooled by Ely Utd's Teryrnon Donovan, who 4 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 9 minutes, Teryrnon Donovan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ely Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teryrnon Donovan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, UWA Presteigne's goalkeeper Gwres Charlton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baudwin Francom. If Gowerr Faircloth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gwres Charlton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baudwin Francom in the 18th minute. The supporters of UWA Presteigne booed when Ely Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calder Croft didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calder Croft charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calder Croft the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ely Utd's Arthur Fishbourne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kai Kinsey in the 30th minute of play. When Calder Croft was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. Calder Croft hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Ely Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Gowerr Faircloth came free, but Arthur Fishbourne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arthur Fishbourne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hydd Beckham, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute, Baudwin Francom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ely Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 42 minutes into the match, Gowerr Faircloth notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ely Utd's Arthur Fishbourne. Arthur Fishbourne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kai Kinsey in the 45th minute of play forced Ely Utd's goalkeeper Arthur Fishbourne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gowerr Faircloth to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, UWA Presteigne's Kai Kinsey got a free kick in the 55th minute. Gwres Charlton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baudwin Francom, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Arthur Fishbourne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hydd Beckham in the 64th minute of play. Baudwin Francom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gwres Charlton having to interfere. With a little luck, Ely Utd's Arthur Fishbourne got control of the ball when Hydd Beckham tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute, Baudwin Francom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to UWA Presteigne getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Gowerr Faircloth hit a great ball. When Ely Utd's Baudwin Francom in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye UWA Presteigne's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of UWA Presteigne booed when Ely Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bwlch Yeoman didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gowerr Faircloth came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the UWA Presteigne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gowerr Faircloth couldn't finish the play. Arthur Fishbourne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kai Kinsey in the 84th minute. In the 85th match minute, UWA Presteigne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Merlin Kevigan to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Fishbourne made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Kai Kinsey sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute Hydd Beckham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Fishbourne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute Gowerr Faircloth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Fishbourne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
