Spectators: 7732 (Terracing: 5800,
Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 154) Rick Smith made the kick off and thus started the match. MacKenea City FC's Tony McIock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malcolm Malcolm in the 5th minute of play. Malcolm Lemond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter McHarold having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Hamish Appleton put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tony McIock. MacKenea City FC's Tony McIock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamish Appleton in the 18th minute of play. Tony McIock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rick Smith in the 19th minute of play. Hamish Appleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tony McIock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MacKenea City FC's Tony McIock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamish Appleton in the 28th minute of play. Rick Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guy Raith charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guy Raith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Campbeltown City booed when MacKenea City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy Raith didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malcolm Lemond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter McHarold having to interfere. Rick Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Wayne McPhedron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jack Dinwoodie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Peter McHarold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The wind increased when Malcolm Lemond made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Malcolm Lemond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter McHarold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hamish Appleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony McIock having to interfere. Campbeltown City's Peter McHarold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Garrow in the 56th minute of play. Rick Smith might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony McIock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rick Smith ran back to his position shaking his head. 65 minutes into the game, Hamish Appleton lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Tony McIock. If Hamish Appleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wayne McPhedron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, MacKenea City FC's Kenneth McIan got a free kick in the 76th minute. After having played for 78 minutes, Hamish Appleton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Campbeltown City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hamish Appleton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rick Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tony McIock made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Hamish Appleton sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Hamish Appleton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony McIock was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. If Arthur Garrow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Campbeltown City's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
