The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laurencekirk AFC's goalkeeper Logan Carrigan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 7 minutes of play, Rogart FC's Kieran Gibson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Logan Carrigan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 11th minute Chris Stalker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Logan Carrigan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kenny McKiggan hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Rogart FC's Walter Bontine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy McKee in the 18th minute of play. Darius Griesck hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andy McKee in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Bontine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the match, Laurencekirk AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Stalker came free, but Logan Carrigan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Chris Stalker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Chris Stalker came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Rogart FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Stalker couldn't finish the play. If Chris Stalker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Logan Carrigan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kieran Gibson in the 46th minute of the match. Kieran Gibson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Logan Carrigan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kieran Gibson to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond McCorkle in the 53rd minute of play forced Rogart FC's goalkeeper Walter Bontine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chris Stalker struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Logan Carrigan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rogart FC. Raymond McCorkle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute Raymond McCorkle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Bontine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Chris Stalker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurencekirk AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raymond McCorkle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Bontine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walter Bontine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy McKee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andy McKee charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andy McKee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Andy McKee kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Walter Bontine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Sherry in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Bradley Bowmaker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
