The referee ignored Wigtown's protests and gave Robbie Morgan a yellow card for diving instead. Ken McCrindle struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Owen Fulton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lochearnhead. In the 18th minute, Rory Conochie had to leave the field with a concussion. Jamie McCansh's late challenge caught a Lochearnhead's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jamie McCansh helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes Wigtown got a freekick which was hit by Jamie McCansh. Greig Barton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Fulton having to interfere. Paul Coulson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Owen Fulton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 27 minutes, Greig Barton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lochearnhead's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greig Barton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frankie Daniels's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darius Colman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Frankie Daniels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lochearnhead's Greig Barton in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wigtown's goalie prevented a goal. 42 minutes into the game, Paul Coulson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lochearnhead's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wigtown the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elliot Mennie got free with Darius Colman in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ken McCrindle hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elliot Mennie in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darius Colman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elliot Mennie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darius Colman having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Elliot Mennie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wigtown's supporters rose to their feet, but Elliot Mennie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darius Colman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Greig Barton might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Owen Fulton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Greig Barton ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 66th minute of the match, Greig Barton got a very nice opportunity to score, but Owen Fulton was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lochearnhead's Darius Colman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frankie Daniels in the 68th minute of play. In the 75th minute Frankie Daniels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darius Colman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Owen Fulton made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Greig Barton sent off a good shot on target. Lochearnhead's Darius Colman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliot Mennie in the 78th minute of play. If Frankie Daniels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
