Spectators: 6768 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rory Gilespie got the match started through his kick off. Rory Gilespie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Larry McGown tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th match minute, Airdrie FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Owen Skene to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rory Gilespie in the 10th minute of play forced Mc Dillon FC's goalkeeper Larry McGown to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joseph Cleland might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Larry McGown. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joseph Cleland ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 12th match minute, Mc Dillon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddie Carrick to maneuver through the defense. When Joseph Cleland came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Airdrie FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Cleland couldn't finish the play. Larry McGown was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rory Gilespie showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Larry McGown stood somewhat misplaced when Rory Gilespie came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 20 minute. 22 minutes into the game, Alex Dove was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Airdrie FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mc Dillon FC the free kick. A collision led to Airdrie FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alex Dove hit a great ball. Reece Carmichael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Mc Dillon FC's Larry McGown got control of the ball when Joseph Cleland tried to sneak it across the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Airdrie FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reece Carmichael came free, but John McRaild reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Rory Gilespie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry McGown saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Larry McGown took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rory Gilespie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John McRaild made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim McBain in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Jim McBain made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Reece Carmichael put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of John McRaild. In the 57th minute, Tim Dickson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Larry McGown took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rory Gilespie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute Jim McBain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John McRaild saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Reece Carmichael came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Mc Dillon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reece Carmichael couldn't finish the play. In the 86thth minute of the game Rory Gilespie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mc Dillon FC's Larry McGown was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cameron Tawesson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joseph Cleland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Larry McGown tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mc Dillon FC's Reece Carmichael got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
