When Dunbar United's Jonathan Hewitt in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mark Suttie didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Jamie McCansh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wigtown's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dunbar United the free kick. Wigtown's Owen Fulton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamish Hendry in the 19th minute of play. Jordan Donillson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elliot Mennie, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Jordan Donillson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frankie Daniels in the 26th minute of play. When Matthew McCasland came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Dunbar United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthew McCasland couldn't finish the play. Mark Suttie's late challenge caught a Dunbar United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mark Suttie helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd match minute, Wigtown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony McGrime to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 37 minutes, Hamish Hendry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunbar United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hamish Hendry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute, Frankie Daniels got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robbie Morgan charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robbie Morgan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th match minute, Wigtown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robbie Morgan to maneuver through the defense. Matthew McCasland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frankie Daniels to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Dunbar United's zone, Frankie Daniels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordan Donillson came out of the goal and Frankie Daniels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Wigtown booed when Dunbar United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fergus Armstrong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elliot Mennies short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Jordan Donillson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 63rdth minute of the game Hamish Hendry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wigtown's Owen Fulton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elliot Mennie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Jordan Donillson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frankie Daniels in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jordan Donillson saved Dunbar United from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Wigtown's goal looked a bit too open when Matthew McCasland came free, but Owen Fulton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamish Hendry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Fulton having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Elliot Mennie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wigtown's supporters rose to their feet, but Elliot Mennie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jordan Donillson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hamish Hendry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Jordan Donillson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Chants of Wigtown echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Dunbar United had held the ball for most of the match.
