An unexpectedly hard shot by Rory Gilespie in the 5th minute of play forced Golden State Warriors's goalkeeper Paul Carrick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Carrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rory Gilespie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John McRaild made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reece Burns in the 15th minute. Airdrie FC's Rory Gilespie got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joseph Cleland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Carrick having to interfere. Golden State Warriors's Paul Carrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rory Gilespie in the 24th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Airdrie FC's Joseph Cleland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paul Carrick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paul Carrick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rory Gilespie's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The supporters of Airdrie FC booed when Golden State Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Beath didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nicholas McIlzegowie fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Airdrie FC's protests and gave Nicholas McIlzegowie a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Airdrie FC's Alex Dove got a free kick in the 39th minute. Golden State Warriors's Fraser Combie got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Reece Burns came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Golden State Warriors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reece Burns couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, Fraser Combie dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of John McRaild, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Fraser Combie made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Joseph Cleland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Airdrie FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joseph Cleland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Carrick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Graham Lucas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paul Carrick. Golden State Warriors's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Golden State Warriors's Danny Beath got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute, Joseph Cleland fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Paul Carrick, passed just outside the right post. After 63 played minutes Golden State Warriors got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Comine. Joseph Cleland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Joseph Cleland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reece Burns might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over John McRaild. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reece Burns ran back to his position shaking his head. 84 minutes into the match, Airdrie FC's Joseph Cleland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paul Carrick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Golden State Warriors booed when Airdrie FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greig Copeland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malcolm McKaskill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reece Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute Fraser Combie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John McRaild saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Golden State Warriors had won after a very even match.
