Lochearnhead's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rory Gilespie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Paul McCodrum fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lochearnhead's protests and gave Paul McCodrum a yellow card for diving instead. Paul McCodrum kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Darius Colman was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Graham Lucas. Joseph Cleland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Joseph Cleland got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Rory Gilespie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Darius Colman having to make a save. Joseph Cleland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Darius Colman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Darius Colman managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Airdrie FC's Joseph Cleland fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 31 minutes of play, Airdrie FC's Joseph Cleland made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Darius Colman was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 34th match minute, Airdrie FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Logan Munro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Airdrie FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Alex Dove hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Ken McCrindle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John McRaild was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Rory Gilespie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John McRaild showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greig Barton in the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rory Gilespie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Darius Colman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Cleland, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Rory Gilespie struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Darius Colman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Airdrie FC. In the 59th minute, Ken McCrindle fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of John McRaild, passed just outside the right post. Greig Barton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but John McRaild made a huge save. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Airdrie FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Keith Lockerbie was slow to take the kick. During this time Lochearnhead's players had a chance to rest. Ken McCrindle was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Greig Barton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but John McRaild made a huge save. In the 74th minute of the match Ivan McJames shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Darius Colman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Lochearnhead's goal looked a bit too open when Rory Gilespie came free, but Darius Colman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Greig Barton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John McRaild having to interfere. In the 92nd minute of the match, Ken McCrindle tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but John McRaild saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lochearnhead's Darius Colman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Owen Skene in the 95th minute of play. After 99 played minutes Ken McCrindle rounded Airdrie FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Airdrie FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lochearnhead for a fine match.
