Lloyd Allinson, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Billy Castle during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Lossiemouth City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billy Castle to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grant Lawrie in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wally Fairbairn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Lee McIlleriach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarbert AFC's Ben McNey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lee McIlleriach in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tarbert AFC's zone, Terry Cobb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ben McNey came out of the goal and Terry Cobb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 24 minutes into the match, Lee McIlleriach notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tarbert AFC's Ben McNey. Ben McNey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grant Lawrie in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Billy Castle kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Lossiemouth City's Lee McIlleriach sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ben McNey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lossiemouth City's Wally Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grant Lawrie in the 34th minute of play. Grant Lawrie succeeded in the game's 36th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Grant Lawrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally Fairbairn having to interfere. Aidan McCririe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Lawrie in the 44th minute of play forced Lossiemouth City's goalkeeper Wally Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute Terry Cobb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben McNey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lee McIlleriach made a kick off. A hard shot 53 in the game by Terry Cobb from a close distance when the talented Ben McNey managed to make a qualified save. Tarbert AFC's players were relieved. In the 76th minute, Terry Cobb got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute of the match, Lee McIlleriach tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ben McNey saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Terry Cobb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ben McNey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee McIlleriach in the 83rd minute of play forced Tarbert AFC's goalkeeper Ben McNey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wally Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Lawrie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Tarbert AFC booed when Lossiemouth City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stewart McEachran didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Kieran McKinnon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lee McIlleriach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Tarbert AFC's Nick Foristar got a free kick in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tarbert AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lossiemouth City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
