The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Keltic Academy's Luke Hunter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grant McBurie in the 5th minute of play. Will Crombie kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Patrick McLea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luke Hunter was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Keltic Academy's Hamish Combie got a free kick in the 34th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Keltic Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 35th minute. Penalty! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

After 55 played minutes Keltic Academy got a freekick which was hit by Greg Wilson. 59 minutes into the game, Keltic Academy's Will Crombie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronan McCune made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Keltic Academy's Luke Hunter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick McLea in the 63rd minute of play. Luke Hunter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert McIlwhom, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Luke Hunter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick McLea in the 67th minute of the match. Luke Hunter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant McBurie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronan McCune made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Hamish Combie sent off a good shot on target. Patrick McLea struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Luke Hunter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ellon. With a little luck, Ellon's Ronan McCune got control of the ball when Hamish Combie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Keltic Academy's Hamish Combie quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tim Skinner, made in the 87th minute of the game. Ronan McCune showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Will Crombie, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 93rd match minute, Ellon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darius Robson to maneuver through the defense. Patrick McLea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Luke Hunter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keltic Academy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
