The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stephen Lamont showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 29 minutes, Henry Denoon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stromness and the Keltic Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stromness's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Keltic Academy the free kick. The supporters of Stromness booed when Keltic Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Ainsworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Keltic Academy's Luke Hunter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliot McEachan in the 42nd minute of play. Luke Hunter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elliot McEachan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 48 minutes of play, Stromness's Elliot McEachan made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luke Hunter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elliot McEachan made a kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Keltic Academy's Lucas Ainslie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stephen Lamont made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 60th minute Elliot McEachan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Hunter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luke Hunter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brandon Gunn, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Elliot McEachan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Luke Hunter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
