Seating: 2122, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Harry McFie started the match with the kick off. The supporters of ARBROATH FC booed when Ellon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frankie Malcolmson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Ellon's goalkeeper Ronan McCune had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Davie McCaig. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harry McFie in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronan McCune saved Ellon from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ross Kendrick got free with Ronan McCune in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Harry McFie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronan McCune. Ellon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harry McFie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 19 minutes into the game, Harry McFie lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Ronan McCune. 23 minutes into the match, Davie McCaig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronan McCune. Ellon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Davie McCaig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 25 minutes into the match, Harry McFie notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Ellon's Ronan McCune. Ronan McCune was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to ARBROATH FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Harry McFie hit a great ball. If Patrick McLea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence McCamie in the 33rd minute of play forced ARBROATH FC's goalkeeper Ian McCabe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ellon's Frankie Malcolmson got a free kick in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry McFie in the 36th minute of play forced Ellon's goalkeeper Ronan McCune to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ellon's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Davie McCaig scored to the left of an out of position Ronan McCune, making the score, 6-0. Harry McFie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ronan McCune tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrick McLea to make the kick off. The supporters of Ellon booed when ARBROATH FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Borthwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 minutes, Ross Kendrick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ARBROATH FC and the Ellon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Ross Kendrick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronan McCune showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry McFie in the 59th minute of the match. Ronan McCune took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry McFie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronan McCune came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by ARBROATH FC's Davie McCaig. But to his dismay, Davie McCaig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 67 minutes into the game, ARBROATH FC's Derek McMillan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronan McCune made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. In the 69th match minute, ARBROATH FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davie McCaig to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Oliver Borthwick left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ARBROATH FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. Ronan McCune made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davie McCaig in the 79th minute of play. After some careless play in the Ellon defense, Davie McCaig kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronan McCune. The Ellon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronan McCune should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry McFie in the 85th minute of play forced Ellon's goalkeeper Ronan McCune to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ian McCabe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terence McCamie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th match minute, Ellon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert McIlwhom to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of ARBROATH FC booed when Ellon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greig Tarrill didn't get a good kick on the ball. When ARBROATH FC's Harry McFie in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ellon's goalie prevented a goal. 95 minutes into the game, ARBROATH FC's Harry McFie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronan McCune made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. When the referee ended the match the ARBROATH FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
