The referee ignored Mirateca FC's protests and gave Diogo Junqueira a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Ferreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tarcísio Lameiras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Antero Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antero Vieira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Ferreira went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Carlos Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antero Vieira having to interfere. Tarcísio Lameiras blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antero Vieira having to make a save. Carlos Ferreira hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Mirateca FC's Antero Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tarcísio Lameiras in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nivaldo Antunes was the one to do the kick off. Rubim Gonçalves took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julião Lobo. Julião Lobo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Rubim Gonçalves scored 1-2 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julião Lobo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 68 minutes into the game, Heitor Seixas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting do Barreiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mirateca FC the free kick. If Rubim Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Sporting do Barreiro's goal looked a bit too open when Nivaldo Antunes came free, but Julião Lobo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 72 minutes, Rubim Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mirateca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubim Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julião Lobo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nivaldo Antunes in the 78th minute of the match. If Nivaldo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Brochado during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 85 minutes, Mirateca FC's Renato Vasques got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Julião Lobo. Nivaldo Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mirateca FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
