The coaching staff of Frieira F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Diamantino Setúbal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 12 minutes into the game, one of Frieira F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dércio Carreira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerzy Szpakowski went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Carlos Lima might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dércio Carreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Lima ran back to his position shaking his head. After 32 played minutes SC Reriz got a freekick which was hit by Lourenço Malafaia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iosu Torres in the 40th minute of play forced SC Reriz's goalkeeper Dércio Carreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dércio Carreira having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lourenço Malafaia made a kick off. Frieira F.C.'s Viriato Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lourenço Malafaia in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Frieira F.C. defense, Egídio Regalado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Viriato Moreira. The Frieira F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Viriato Moreira should have stopped the shot. Viriato Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Seixas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Regalado in the 63rd minute of play forced Frieira F.C.'s goalkeeper Viriato Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Frieira F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SC Reriz.
