The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexandre Curado in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aldo Osório saved SC Tola from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laércio Rangel got free with Luís Tavares in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 played minutes SC Tola got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Campos. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isidro Faria during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 25 played minutes O Alentejo got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Faria. Teodoro Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Luís Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th play minute Eurico Barcelos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Aldo Osório. 1-1. 90 minutes into the match, O Alentejo's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Rangel came free, but Luís Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute of the match SC Tola got a corner. O Alentejo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. SC Tola's Tomé Sá was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luís Tavares in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 93 minutes into the game, O Alentejo's Eurico Barcelos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aldo Osório made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Eurico Barcelos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aldo Osório came out and tried to block the shot, but Eurico Barcelos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 97th minute. The O Alentejo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
