Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Delfim Matias took the kick off in the first half of the match. SC Benfica's Leandro Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Matias in the 6th minute of play. Viriato Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Paiva having to interfere. Albérico Vilanova took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sandro Correia. Sandro Correia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 13th minute, Albérico Vilanova fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Eusébio Borba hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Leandro Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Sá in the 16th minute of the match. The SC Benfica fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when SC Benfica's Albérico Vilanova looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Matias in the 20th minute of play forced SC Benfica's goalkeeper Leandro Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Pedro Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albérico Vilanova in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sandro Correia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Nicolau Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolau Nogueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandro Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 30 played minutes SC Prestimo got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Reis. In the 37th minute Delfim Matias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Albérico Vilanova had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Viriato Sá had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leandro Paiva. SC Benfica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Viriato Sá was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in SC Benfica's zone, Delfim Matias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Paiva came out of the goal and Delfim Matias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute, Flávio Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leandro Paiva came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Prestimo's Viriato Sá. But to his dismay, Viriato Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. If Viriato Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leandro Paiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delfim Matias in the 69th minute. Delfim Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Leandro Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Delfim Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geraldo Bandeira during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes SC Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Bandeira. With a little luck, SC Benfica's Leandro Paiva got control of the ball when Viriato Sá tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute, António Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
