The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of SC Apressados:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Portuense:s goal. In the 17th minute, Cesur Necid left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Portuense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. SC Apressados's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Portuense the free kick. FC Portuense's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesur Necid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Baia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
