Viriato Prates didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GDR Canas Senhorim. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassiano Guerra in the 19th minute of play forced GDR Canas Senhorim's goalkeeper Ramiro Rego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Rego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassiano Guerra in the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match, Bernardo Garcia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Viriato Prates saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cassiano Guerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramiro Rego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Vladimiro Sesimbra kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Alexandre Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. benfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Severo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ramiro Rego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassiano Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of benfica booed when GDR Canas Senhorim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Sesimbra didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernardo Garcia in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Viriato Prates saved benfica from getting behind. With a little luck, GDR Canas Senhorim's Ramiro Rego got control of the ball when Adérito Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramiro Rego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Severo in the 74th minute of play. A collision led to GDR Canas Senhorim getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. After 80 minutes, Eduardo Águas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GDR Canas Senhorim and the benfica players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Lázaro Freitas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ramiro Rego. The goal made the score 2-4. benfica's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
