Adérito Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but António Queiroga made a huge save. The supporters of benfica booed when GDPortel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Dolfo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The wind increased when Alexandre Severo made the kick off in the second half. GDPortel's António Queiroga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassiano Guerra in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56th minute, Cassiano Guerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The benfica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anselmo Portugal got free with Viriato Prates in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the game, Sander Halliste was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GDPortel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave benfica the free kick. After a rather tough play, GDPortel's Sander Halliste got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Viriato Prates was a little too slow when Geraldo lago got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 2-3. GDPortel:s António Queiroga showed great skill when he stopped Alexandre Severo:s penalty. When the referee ended the match the benfica players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
