Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Laércio Taveira started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Laércio Taveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermano Resende having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, SC Algares's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Lopes came free, but Hermano Resende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Botanorrego FC's Sálvio Marinho got control of the ball when Sabino Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Algares's zone, Laércio Taveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermano Resende came out of the goal and Laércio Taveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 35 minutes, Sabino Pinheiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Algares and the Botanorrego FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sabino Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Hermano Resende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Taveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laércio Taveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Juvenal Serpa came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Botanorrego FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juvenal Serpa couldn't finish the play. Emanuel Quintanilha kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sabino Pinheiro to make the kick off. If Laércio Taveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermano Resende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laércio Taveira in the 55th minute. A collision led to Botanorrego FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Albérico Quintas hit a great ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Albérico Brás managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Algares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albérico Brás was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hermano Resende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laércio Taveira in the 60th minute. Fabrício Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Sálvio Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Botanorrego FC's Hermano Resende threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Juvenal Serpa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Hermano Resende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The supporters of SC Algares booed when Botanorrego FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viriato Barata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Botanorrego FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrício Machado came free, but Sálvio Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The SC Algares fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Botanorrego FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
