A collision led to F.C. Cristelo getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Tito Negro hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Wayne in the 3rd minute of play forced F.C. Cristelo's goalkeeper Gusmão Coimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gusmão Coimbra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Wayne, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The supporters of F.C. Cristelo booed when Red Star Monção was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Azenha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Red Star Monção booed when F.C. Cristelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demian Thorn didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Red Star Monção's goalkeeper Osvaldo Alvarenga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Red Star Monção's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Azenha came free, but Osvaldo Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Alvarenga came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. Cristelo's Sílvio Azenha. But to his dismay, Sílvio Azenha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mathias Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Osvaldo Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Demian Thorn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tito Negro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Red Star Monção's Teodoro Lameiras in action when he in the 38th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 46 minutes into the match, F.C. Cristelo's goalkeeper Gusmão Coimbra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodoro Lameiras. In the 47th match minute, F.C. Cristelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iturri Sorribo to maneuver through the defense.

A collision led to Red Star Monção getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. André França hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Demian Thorn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C. Cristelo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When F.C. Cristelo's Sílvio Azenha in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gusmão Coimbra was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, F.C. Cristelo's Aloísio Padilha got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, John Wayne made a precise shot to the right of Gusmão Coimbra. F.C. Cristelo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After 74 minutes of play, F.C. Cristelo's Sílvio Azenha made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvaldo Alvarenga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luís Oliveira took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gusmão Coimbra. Gusmão Coimbra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Azenha in the 83rd minute of play forced Red Star Monção's goalkeeper Osvaldo Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Sílvio Azenha took a quick shot and it went in 3-5 without a chance for Osvaldo Alvarenga to make any attempt to save it. Sílvio Azenha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Osvaldo Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. F.C. Cristelo's Gusmão Coimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Lameiras in the 96th minute of play. The F.C. Cristelo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing F.C. Cristelo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
