Hermenegildo Sobral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Moutinho struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Hermenegildo Sobral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NEW OPORTO. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilson Espírito Santo in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hermenegildo Sobral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilson Espírito Santo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermenegildo Sobral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Rúben Franco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Eliseu Soares made a huge save. Eliseu Soares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adalberto Marques's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. NEW OPORTO's Vítor Moutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dimas Baião succeeded in the game's 20th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. If Vítor Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Estrela★Leonino OFF's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Espírito Santo came free, but Hermenegildo Sobral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27thth minute of the game Wilson Espírito Santo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estrela★Leonino OFF's Hermenegildo Sobral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hermenegildo Sobral came out of the goal and Wilson Espírito Santo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Vítor Moutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olavo Gonçalves during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilson Espírito Santo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, one of Estrela★Leonino OFF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Wilson Espírito Santo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 62 in the game by Vítor Moutinho from a close distance when the talented Hermenegildo Sobral managed to make a qualified save. Estrela★Leonino OFF's players were relieved. In the 68th minute, Estrela★Leonino OFF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vítor Moutinho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Vítor Moutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dimas Baião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Hermenegildo Sobral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilson Espírito Santo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermenegildo Sobral having to interfere. If Vítor Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Estrela★Leonino OFF defense, Vítor Moutinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hermenegildo Sobral. The Estrela★Leonino OFF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hermenegildo Sobral should have stopped the shot. Olavo Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Vítor Moutinho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hermenegildo Sobral. The goal made the score 1-3. The Estrela★Leonino OFF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. NEW OPORTO were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
