Green Lion's Simão Colaço played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudemiro Campos in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, SC Barreiro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Victor Sudarsono fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ulizes Boldu had several of the SC Barreiro's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 14 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Jorge Moutinho as he didn't even see the shot coming. Nivaldo Graça's late challenge caught a Green Lion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nivaldo Graça helped the player get up and apologised. 43 minutes into the match, SC Barreiro's goal looked a bit too open when Ulizes Boldu came free, but Jorge Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudemiro Campos made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Nélson Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the SC Barreiro defense, Nélson Leite kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Moutinho. The SC Barreiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Moutinho should have stopped the shot. Jorge Moutinho came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Green Lion's Ulizes Boldu. But to his dismay, Ulizes Boldu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Jorge Moutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulizes Boldu in the 76th minute of play. Jorge Moutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulizes Boldu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Jorge Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nélson Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Jorge Moutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nélson Leite in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute of the match, Claudemiro Campos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Simão Colaço saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 88 minutes, Ramiro Antunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Barreiro and the Green Lion players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorge Moutinho went to the wrong direction when Nélson Leite was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Jorge Moutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulizes Boldu in the 91st minute of the match. If Ulizes Boldu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulizes Boldu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Jorge Moutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
