Spectators: 7589 (Terracing: 6029, Seating: 1460, VIP seats: 100) Acrescenta's Benedito Caires started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, JCSF-Penafiel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Sesimbra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Futre, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 4 minutes into the match, Paulo Futre notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of JCSF-Penafiel's Bernardo Sesimbra. Bernardo Sesimbra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 7 minutes into the game, Isidro Quintas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JCSF-Penafiel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acrescenta the free kick. The referee gave Acrescenta a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Simone Ceroli, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of JCSF-Penafiel's Bernardo Sesimbra. 0-2. Benedito Caires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo Sesimbra having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Moutinho in the 14th minute of play forced JCSF-Penafiel's goalkeeper Bernardo Sesimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Diamantino Quinaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valério Ferraz was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 18thth minute of the game Paulo Futre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but JCSF-Penafiel's Bernardo Sesimbra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. JCSF-Penafiel's attack was well implemented in the 20th minute, but when Diamantino Quinaz was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 22nd minute of the game, Aldaír Veiga landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 22 minutes, Rui Moutinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Acrescenta and the JCSF-Penafiel players grew even worse after the yellow card. JCSF-Penafiel's David Estrela was substituted for Aldaír Veiga. Rui Moutinho hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute Paulo Futre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Sesimbra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Benedito Caires made a precise shot to the right of Bernardo Sesimbra. JCSF-Penafiel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. JCSF-Penafiel's Bernardo Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Moutinho in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Paulo Futre left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Acrescenta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Benedito Caires sped through JCSF-Penafiel's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Sesimbra. In the 46th minute, Rui Moutinho made a precise shot to the right of Bernardo Sesimbra. JCSF-Penafiel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7.

A hard shot by Simone Ceroli from long distance, 56 minutes into the match, got Bernardo Sesimbra's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 57th minute, Marcos Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardo Sesimbra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Futre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Afonso Moura dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bernardo Sesimbra, 0-8. In the 63rd minute, Benedito Caires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to JCSF-Penafiel getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Frederico Benevides hit a great ball. Acrescenta's Simone Ceroli shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 70th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bernardo Sesimbra but with some difficulty. Bernardo Sesimbra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simone Ceroli in the 71st minute of the match. Benedito Caires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. JCSF-Penafiel's Bernardo Sesimbra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save JCSF-Penafiel from getting a goal against them. Bernardo Sesimbra made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Rui Moutinho sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Paulo Futre could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Bernardo Sesimbra however easily saved by the left post. Bernardo Sesimbra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Caires in the 80th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Futre got free with Bernardo Sesimbra in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paulo Futre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Bernardo Sesimbra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Sesimbra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Moutinho in the 89th minute of play. Bernardo Sesimbra made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Paulo Futre sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Futre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Sesimbra having to interfere. Paulo Futre struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Bernardo Sesimbra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Acrescenta. Acrescenta's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
