Spectators: 7998 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1839, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Inácio Henriques started the match with the kick off. Angélico Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 5 minutes, Inácio Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio Henriques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 7 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Granja. In the 8th minute, Duarte Domingues sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Santos FC's Albertino Assis didn't even have to move. In the 13th minute Jorge Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Assis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severiano Cesário kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. If Inácio Henriques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amável Assis in the 28th minute. A nice corner shot did that Amável Assis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carlinhos Ortiz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Albertino Assis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Santos FC's Albertino Assis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the game, Aldaír Morais cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Albertino Assis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aldaír Morais in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Albertino Assis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Celtic FC's Jorge Palma in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santos FC's goalie prevented a goal. 43 minutes into the match, Aldaír Morais dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Albertino Assis, 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Palma was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jorge Palma ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albertino Assis was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. If Jorge Palma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Jorge Palma in the 59th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Wilson Vaz hit a great ball. In the 65th minute Jorge Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Assis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Duarte Domingues fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celtic FC's protests and gave Duarte Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Celtic FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Duarte Domingues hit a great ball. Inácio Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlinhos Ortiz made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Aquilino Gois sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Jorge Palma put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Albertino Assis. Santos FC's Albertino Assis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldaír Morais in the 84th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Jorge Palma made a precise shot to the right of Albertino Assis. Santos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. A collision led to Celtic FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Sebastião Nascimento hit a great ball. Santos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
