Spectators: 6867 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1867, VIP seats: 0) Partington FC's Ged Birchall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fitz Garforth in the 4th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Partington FC's Ashley Hewitt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oscar Ford. Oscar Ford yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. If Ashley Hewitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fitz Garforth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ged Birchall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19th play minutes Trevor Croxford shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Ged Birchall and just under the crossbar into goal. Fitz Garforth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25thth minute of the game Trevor Croxford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Partington FC's Ged Birchall was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ballymoney Rovers's Fitz Garforth got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Willie Tully fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Partington FC's protests and gave Willie Tully a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Partington FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Willie Tully hit a great ball. Crispin Gamble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oscar Ford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ashley Hewitt , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fitz Garforth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ged Birchall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Partington FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Perry Darko hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trevor Croxford in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ged Birchall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ashley Hewitt to make the kick off. In the 54th play minute Fitz Garforth came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ged Birchall . 1-2. 59 minutes into the game, Trevor Croxford lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Ged Birchall . Martin Kitching hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute, Partington FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fitz Garforth fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 73rd minute, one of Partington FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Partington FC. Ashley Hewitt hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th match minute, Ballymoney Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trevor Croxford to maneuver through the defense. Fitz Garforth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ged Birchall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Partington FC booed when Ballymoney Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Champion didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ian Haylock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Ballymoney Rovers left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Partington FC.
