After a defensive mix-up in Hextable City's zone, Tim Pinder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bill Clarke came out of the goal and Tim Pinder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martin Dewhirst 's late challenge caught a Hextable City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Dewhirst helped the player get up and apologised. Martin Dewhirst hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Roger Lockwood got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Bill Clarke managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Bramhall FC's Tim Pinder fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bill Clarke stood somewhat misplaced when Tim Pinder came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 26 minute. 32 minutes into the match, Hextable City's goalkeeper Bill Clarke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tim Pinder . Tim Pinder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bill Clarke having to interfere. Roger Lockwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Darren Church tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Bramhall FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith Stockley to maneuver through the defense. Bill Clarke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mitch Carsley , who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gus McGuinness made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Hextable City's Roger Lockwood ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Darren Church . Darren Church yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Bramhall FC's Darren Church played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Button in the 57th minute of play. Roger Lockwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darren Church having to interfere. Pedro Button received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Darren Church tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the game, Gus McGuinness was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bramhall FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hextable City the free kick. Gus McGuinness hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Martin Dewhirst was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After recieving a nice pass, Hextable City's Miles Osmond tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 85th match minute, Bramhall FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitch Carsley to maneuver through the defense. Darren Church showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Button in the 87th minute of the match. If Tim Pinder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, Bramhall FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Button came free, but Darren Church reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bramhall FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hextable City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
