Bryan Locke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Reg Hinchcliffe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Louis Carroll came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Mhurphys Fury F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Carroll couldn't finish the play. Thomas Bush's late challenge caught a Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomas Bush helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Annscroft City's Thomas Bush got a free kick in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s zone, Bryan Locke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reg Hinchcliffe came out of the goal and Bryan Locke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Louis Carroll was the one to do the kick off. Ben Boyd made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Ian Markham sent off a good shot on target. Annscroft City's Thomas Bush got his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. The referee ordered Thomas Bush off the ground. In the 64th match minute, Annscroft City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Bush to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Markham got free with Ben Boyd in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Louis Carroll's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ben Boyd read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. After 96 played minutes Annscroft City got a freekick which was hit by Matt Neville. Antony Hibbert missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 98 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Ben Boyd right hand side. Annscroft City's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
