Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Andy Holt got the match started through his kick off. Frank Cooke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alec Milburn, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alec Milburn in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frank Cooke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frank Cooke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Holt in the 39th minute of the match. Alec Milburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alec Milburn scored 0-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frank Cooke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Frank Cooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Holt in the 47th minute of play. The Notting Hill Gate City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Shrewsbury AFC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harvey Blake was the one to do the kick off. Orson Tyler kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 55th play minutes Andy Holt shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Frank Cooke and just under the crossbar into goal. Alistair Ingham charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alistair Ingham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 62 minutes into the match, Notting Hill Gate City's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Holt came free, but Frank Cooke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Notting Hill Gate City's Frank Cooke got control of the ball when Alec Milburn tried to sneak it across the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Alf Edwards was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alec Milburn couldn't finish the play. Shrewsbury AFC's Alec Milburn got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andy Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cooke having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Shrewsbury AFC's Alec Milburn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Cooke narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Shrewsbury AFC's Andy Holt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Frank Cooke.
