After having played for 47 minutes, George Spacey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corby's supporters crossed their fingers, but George Spacey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Grant Button received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dave Wellings came out and tried to block the shot, but Grant Button slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 62nd minute. Richie Wheeler struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. In the 95th minute Grant Button shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Wellings saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Corby's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
