Spectators: 8483 (Terracing: 6364, Seating: 1950, VIP seats: 169) Rod Whitmore charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rod Whitmore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rod Whitmore hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. The supporters of Oulton Broad booed when Corby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Verne Banks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sean Smith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Dave Gardner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grant Button sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George Spacey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, George Spacey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corby's supporters rose to their feet, but George Spacey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adam Boulton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adam Boulton came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Corby's Grant Button. But to his dismay, Grant Button quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Leo Wall fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oulton Broad's protests and gave Leo Wall a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, Leo Wall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Boulton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Button in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute Grant Button shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Boulton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Grant Button stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Oulton Broad:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Corby:s goal. Corby's Dave Gardner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sean Smith in the 61st minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves George Spacey could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Adam Boulton however easily saved by the left post. Dave Gardner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Ford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin Ford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Gardner having to interfere. Keith Mortimer hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Adam Boulton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grant Button, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. George Spacey might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adam Boulton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. George Spacey ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Grant Button's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adam Boulton was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. If Benjamin Ford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 played minutes Corby got a freekick which was hit by Phil Allen. Corby's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
