The Ray Edison was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Bob Garforth took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ray Edison to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Trueman in the 18th minute of play forced East Tilbury's goalkeeper Ray Edison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Taverham AF's Austin Trueman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. When East Tilbury's Philip Bull in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Taverham AF's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Kenny Wicks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taverham AF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kenny Wicks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Austin Parrott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Austin Trueman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ray Edison came out and tried to block the shot, but Austin Trueman slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 31st minute. Andrew Greenwood blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ray Edison having to make a save. 37 minutes into the match, Austin Trueman notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of East Tilbury's Ray Edison . Ray Edison was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Austin Trueman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ray Edison came out and tried to block the shot, but Austin Trueman slotted it home off the left post making it 6-0 in the 41st minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barry Fletcher was the one to do the kick off. Ed Bell kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. It was beautiful to see Taverham AF's Andrew Greenwood in action when he in the 53rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 57th minute, Austin Trueman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Taverham AF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. When Austin Trueman came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Taverham AF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Austin Trueman couldn't finish the play. After 63 played minutes Taverham AF got a freekick which was hit by Ed Bell. 66 minutes into the game, Austin Trueman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Ray Edison was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bob Garforth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Edison having to interfere. Ray Edison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrew Greenwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Austin Trueman took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ray Edison . Ray Edison dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. Taverham AF's Austin Trueman got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Austin Trueman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Ray Edison was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bob Garforth hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. If Austin Trueman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 11-0 when Austin Trueman sped through East Tilbury's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ray Edison . In the 90th minute, George Bayne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenny Wicks scored 12-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ray Edison , who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
