The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jim Tipton hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. James York's late challenge caught a Belfast Celtic FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. James York helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th match minute, Watchet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by James York to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Belfast Celtic FC's Marc Sawbridge got control of the ball when Shawn Connell tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th minute, Chris Johnson made a precise shot to the right of Liam Dickens. Watchet's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Jim Tipton fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belfast Celtic FC's protests and gave Jim Tipton a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Belfast Celtic FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Jim Tipton hit a great ball. Shawn Connell's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marc Sawbridge firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 23 played minutes Belfast Celtic FC got a freekick which was hit by Keith Perkins. Shawn Connell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Sawbridge having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Watchet's Gerry Browne got a free kick in the 28th minute. 30 minutes into the game, Glenn Slade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Watchet's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belfast Celtic FC the free kick. After 30 played minutes Watchet got a freekick which was hit by Glenn Slade. If Chris Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 36 minutes into the game, Chris Johnson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Liam Dickens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jim Tipton scored 0-3 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Liam Dickens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Watchet defense, Jim Tipton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Liam Dickens. The Watchet fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Liam Dickens should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jim Tipton made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Belfast Celtic FC's Chris Johnson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Liam Dickens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Jim Tipton notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Watchet's Liam Dickens. Liam Dickens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jim Tipton took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Liam Dickens. Liam Dickens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. If Keith Perkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jim Tipton in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Liam Dickens saved Watchet from getting behind. A hard shot 82 in the game by Jim Tipton from a close distance when the talented Liam Dickens managed to make a qualified save. Watchet's players were relieved. Liam Dickens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Tipton in the 86th minute of the match. When Alfred Bowen came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Watchet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Bowen couldn't finish the play. Keith Perkins kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
