Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Þróttur Flúðum's Álfgeir Sveinþórsson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lindberg Birgisson made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Arnoddur Böðvarsson sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Máni Garði getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Siguroddur Gunnsteinsson hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Hávar Arnarson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Þróttur Flúðum's supporters rose to their feet, but Hávar Arnarson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Végeir Kjartansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th minute, Sýrus Oddbergsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Máni Garði's Arnoddur Böðvarsson in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Þróttur Flúðum's goalie prevented a goal. Arnoddur Böðvarsson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Máni Garði's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 24th minute Arnoddur Böðvarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lindberg Birgisson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Álfgeir Sveinþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th match minute, Máni Garði was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bjarkar Marvinsson to maneuver through the defense. Tumas Aðalsteinsson kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Þróttur Flúðum's zone, Arnoddur Böðvarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lindberg Birgisson came out of the goal and Arnoddur Böðvarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 32 played minutes Þróttur Flúðum got a freekick which was hit by Hreiðar Bergmansson. After 33 played minutes, Máni Garði's Arnoddur Böðvarsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lindberg Birgisson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Máni Garði reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoddur Böðvarsson in the 37th minute of play forced Þróttur Flúðum's goalkeeper Lindberg Birgisson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnoddur Böðvarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Arnoddur Böðvarsson sped through Þróttur Flúðum's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lindberg Birgisson. Lindberg Birgisson came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Máni Garði's Arnoddur Böðvarsson. But to his dismay, Arnoddur Böðvarsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Lindberg Birgisson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoddur Böðvarsson in the 71st minute of the match. Lindberg Birgisson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnoddur Böðvarsson's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. After a rather tough play, Máni Garði's Siguroddur Gunnsteinsson got a free kick in the 79th minute. Lindberg Birgisson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoddur Böðvarsson in the 81st minute of play. When Sigríkur Gustavsson came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Máni Garði fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigríkur Gustavsson couldn't finish the play. After 83 played minutes Þróttur Flúðum got a freekick which was hit by Elberg Úlfarsson. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Sigríkur Gustavsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Máni Garði's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigríkur Gustavsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lindberg Birgisson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnoddur Böðvarsson in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lindberg Birgisson saved Þróttur Flúðum from getting behind. Sigríkur Gustavsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Álfgeir Sveinþórsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Végeir Kjartansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Máni Garði were the better team. Máni Garði's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
