Klettur's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frans Dagþórsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 30th match minute, Mottó Eskifirði was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rósinberg Hrútsson to maneuver through the defense. Mörður Hallbjörnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sturlaugur Einvarðsson having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Játmundur Mánason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Klettur's supporters crossed their fingers, but Játmundur Mánason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
