The audience was convinced that Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Seimur Ófeigsson was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. The goal made the score 1-0. 48 minutes into the match, Hörður's goalkeeper Seimur Ófeigsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guðleikur Ásmundarson to strike the kick off in the second half. Mímir Bæ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnleifur Vífilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Seimur Ófeigsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Seimur Ófeigsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnleifur Vífilsson in the 87th minute of play. In the 91st minute Vigur Vagnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seimur Ófeigsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hörður's Seimur Ófeigsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson in the 92nd minute of play. If Arnleifur Vífilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95thth minute of the game Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hörður's Seimur Ófeigsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hörður's zone, Arnleifur Vífilsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seimur Ófeigsson came out of the goal and Arnleifur Vífilsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mímir Bæ had played much better football throughout.
