Gealan Willson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tathan Johnson in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th match minute, Ballyvaghan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tathan Johnson to maneuver through the defense. After 19 minutes, Alfred Cassin made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Skeahanagh's Gealan Willson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tathan Johnson during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ballyvaghan booed when Skeahanagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bercan Lavine didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patraic McAlphie in the 34th minute of play forced Ballyvaghan's goalkeeper Brennen Grant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patraic McAlphie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brennen Grant having to interfere. Alfred Cassin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Ballyvaghan were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patraic McAlphie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patraic McAlphie in the 53rd minute of play forced Ballyvaghan's goalkeeper Brennen Grant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Alfred Cassin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ballyvaghan's Brennen Grant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patraic McAlphie in the 60th minute of play. Brennen Grant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bercan Lavine, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Skeahanagh's zone, Tathan Johnson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gealan Willson came out of the goal and Tathan Johnson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ballyvaghan's Brennen Grant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bercan Lavine in the 79th minute of play. Tathan Johnson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gealan Willson having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballyvaghan's goalkeeper Brennen Grant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bercan Lavine struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Brennen Grant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skeahanagh. Brennen Grant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beacan Deans in the 94th minute of play. Bourns McPeter hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Skeahanagh supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ballyvaghan's performance. The match ended with a win for Ballyvaghan.
