Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Mulroog's Gil Byrne started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Knockbodaly's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ricard Kelly was slow to take the kick. During this time Mulroog's players had a chance to rest. Mulroog's Roy Dillon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnold Branson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arnold Branson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peadair MaCollin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Blanaid McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Gil Byrne cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Arnold Branson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peadair MaCollin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peadair MaCollin in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Blanaid McGlynn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Rourke Deans fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mulroog's protests and gave Rourke Deans a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st match minute, Mulroog was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rourke Deans to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Walker in the 38th minute of play forced Mulroog's goalkeeper Blanaid McGlynn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gil Byrne during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mulroog getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Gil Byrne hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Robert Walker made the kick off in the second half. Blanaid McGlynn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peadair MaCollin in the 56th minute of the match. Blanaid McGlynn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peadair MaCollin in the 66th minute of the match. Arnold Branson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 72 in the game by Toran Cassin from a close distance when the talented Arnold Branson managed to make a qualified save. Knockbodaly's players were relieved. After having played for 78 minutes, Gil Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mulroog's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Byrne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnold Branson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gil Byrne's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Toran Cassin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnold Branson having to make a save. Arnold Branson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 90th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cianán McTommy. Arnold Branson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mulroog's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
