He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Geary Todd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrew McNamee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Silke having to interfere. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clonegal's goalkeeper Darick McWillie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 28 minutes, Breasal Beckett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clonegal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breasal Beckett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Keelin John had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Treno Morrison hit a great ball. The supporters of Ballinaboy booed when Clonegal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kerrigan Cooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geary Todd spun around in front of the goal 42 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Clonegal's goal. Geary Todd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darick McWillie having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Keelin John was the one to do the kick off. Darick McWillie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Keelin John's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Geary Todd might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Darick McWillie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geary Todd ran back to his position shaking his head. Geary Todd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kevinn McAlphie kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Darick McWillie made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Geary Todd sent off a good shot on target. In the 69th match minute, Ballinaboy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brennan Lester to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Ballinaboy's Geary Todd sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Darick McWillie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77th minute Andrew McNamee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Silke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrew McNamee might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damian Silke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrew McNamee ran back to his position shaking his head. Geary Todd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darick McWillie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keelin John in the 92nd minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
