Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kerrigan Harkin started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Arnold Branson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Killian McStephen in the 3rd minute of the match. When Peadair MaCollin came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Knockbodaly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peadair MaCollin couldn't finish the play. Arnold Branson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerrigan Harkin in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Knockbodaly's Caroll Myler got a free kick in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Kerrigan Harkin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnold Branson was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 43rd minute, Knockbodaly's Belock McStephen seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Belock McStephen the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Knockbodaly protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Belock McStephen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Peadair MaCollin made a kick off. The supporters of Meenymore Utd booed when Knockbodaly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Aban Hughes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Kerrigan Harkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meenymore Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Kerrigan Harkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnold Branson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Killian McStephen struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Arnold Branson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meenymore Utd. A collision led to Knockbodaly getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Peadair MaCollin hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the game, Kerrigan Harkin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnold Branson. Kerrigan Harkin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. 82 minutes into the game, Kerrigan Harkin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meenymore Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knockbodaly the free kick. After a rather tough play, Meenymore Utd's Kerrigan Harkin got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 87th match minute, Knockbodaly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Walker to maneuver through the defense. Killian McStephen struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Arnold Branson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meenymore Utd. After having played for 92 minutes, Killian McStephen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meenymore Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Killian McStephen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute, Killian McStephen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arnold Branson. The goal made the score 1-3.
