Knocksquire's Herne McSteven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beiti Glen Crowe in the 16th minute of play. Richard McAaron's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Boethis Cooney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Brenda Rutherford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Boethis Cooney made a huge save. After 25 minutes, Richard McAaron mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Knocksquire and the Rahans FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beiti Glen Crowe in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herne McSteven prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 played minutes Rahans FC got a freekick which was hit by Ailín Horgan. Herne McSteven stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beiti Glen Crowe's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Brenda Rutherford who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Boethis Cooney when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knocksquire's goalkeeper Herne McSteven, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Knocksquire's zone, Ryan McOliver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herne McSteven came out of the goal and Ryan McOliver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Baolach Horgan kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brenda Rutherford in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boethis Cooney saved Rahans FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brenda Rutherford in the 56th minute of play forced Rahans FC's goalkeeper Boethis Cooney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Dennis McIan put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Boethis Cooney. Boethis Cooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brenda Rutherford, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brenda Rutherford in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boethis Cooney saved Rahans FC from getting behind. Brenda Rutherford might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boethis Cooney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brenda Rutherford ran back to his position shaking his head. If Richard McAaron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ryan McOliver struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Herne McSteven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rahans FC. Brenda Rutherford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Boethis Cooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herne McSteven didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 85th minute, which inside left pole to 3-1. 89 minutes into the match, Rahans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brenda Rutherford came free, but Boethis Cooney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Rahans FC's Ryan McOliver ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Herne McSteven. Herne McSteven yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Knocksquire walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
