Aengus Scully charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aengus Scully the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Derryheena getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Aengus Scully hit a great ball. If Boethis Cooney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Caolán Dempsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beglan Tracy's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Derryheena's Boethis Cooney sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caolán Dempsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Reenroe's Brendann Bayes got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bradner McTommy might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baine Ramsey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bradner McTommy ran back to his position shaking his head. Brendann Bayes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baine Ramsey having to interfere. Bradner McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Reenroe's Brendann Bayes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baine Ramsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bragan Perth hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Baine Ramsey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brendann Bayes in the 29th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Bradner McTommy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reenroe's supporters rose to their feet, but Bradner McTommy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baine Ramsey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brendann Bayes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baine Ramsey having to make a save. If Brendann Bayes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Derryheena getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Barley Martyn hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Bradner McTommy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Derryheena's Baine Ramsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradner McTommy in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bradner McTommy to make the kick off. Beglan Tracy struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Caolán Dempsey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derryheena. Bradner McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baine Ramsey having to interfere. After 63rd play minutes Bradner McTommy shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Baine Ramsey and just under the crossbar into goal. 66 minutes into the game, Brendann Bayes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Reenroe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Derryheena the free kick. Brendann Bayes kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 68thth minute of the game Brendann Bayes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Derryheena's Baine Ramsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Caolán Dempsey didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beglan Tracy went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Derryheena booed when Reenroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowley Prunty didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Beglan Tracy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bragan Perth hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. When Bragan Perth fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reenroe's protests and gave Bragan Perth a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Bat Lester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradner McTommy in the 94th minute of play forced Derryheena's goalkeeper Baine Ramsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Although Reenroe had been in control for most of the match, Derryheena still came away with the win.
