Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Séamus McOliver had several of the Cleenaghoo's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 10 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Cassidy Mullan as he didn't even see the shot coming. Knockstopher's Séamus McOliver got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felim Byrne's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Cassidy Mullan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brett Grant in the 24th minute of play forced Knockstopher's goalkeeper Binne McLaughlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Donncha Doherty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cleenaghoo booed when Knockstopher was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derin McDonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. Séamus McOliver who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Cassidy Mullan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cassidy Mullan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Séamus McOliver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Séamus McOliver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knockstopher's supporters rose to their feet, but Séamus McOliver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cassidy Mullan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cassidy Mullan was a little too slow when Derin McDonald got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 3-0. 44 minutes into the match, Beehan Quinnless had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Binne McLaughlin. Knockstopher's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Beehan Quinnless was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Cassidy Mullan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felim Byrne went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 66 minutes into the match, Cleenaghoo's goal looked a bit too open when Barran McBrandon came free, but Cassidy Mullan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute Baird Crowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cassidy Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Binne McLaughlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beehan Quinnless, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute Séamus McOliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cassidy Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd match minute, Cleenaghoo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernard Harkin to maneuver through the defense. Felim Byrne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cassidy Mullan having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Donncha Doherty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Séamus McOliver struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Cassidy Mullan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knockstopher. 82 minutes into the game, Knockstopher's Derin McDonald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cassidy Mullan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Felim Byrne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Séamus McOliver struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Cleenaghoo's Cassidy Mullan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Séamus McOliver in the 93rd minute of play. Alex Moran charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Moran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cleenaghoo's Alex Moran got a free kick in the 93rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Séamus McOliver in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cassidy Mullan saved Cleenaghoo from getting behind. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Knockstopher had played much better football throughout.
